During his residency, Dr. Clement spent a year in England and Europe working with many world renowned European and British plastic surgeons. Early in practice, he studied with some of the leading American plastic surgeons including Dr. Connell, Doctors Baker and Gordon, and Dr. Ralph Midland. He carefully evaluates new techniques to determine their validity and usefulness in his practice. Dr. Clement has been voted by his peers, both locally and nationally, as Austin Monthly's "Best Doctors", Texas Monthly's "Super Doctors", "America's Top Surgeons" and as one of "The Best Doctors in America" every year since it's inception in 1996.

Dr. Clement is a founding member of Austin Smiles, a local non-profit organization that provides cleft lip and palate repairs to children in Austin and various locations in Latin America. Dr. Clement volunteers his time on several occasions throughout the year to provide surgical assistance to children in Third World Countries and Travis County and surrounding areas who need his expertise to correct defects. It is a heart warming experience for Dr. Clement to be able to put a smile on the faces of these children.
